Making working TV remotes is very complex. You need the right amount of on times to off times in a specific frequency, a frequency which has NOTHING to do with adjusting a focus beam. Not only that, but shining a white LED through a floppy disc will NOT result in outputting the 940nm wavelength required to be registered by the TV. Sorry guys.
